Bielefeld, Germany – 12 April 2022: Global Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) technology company SkedGo is today announcing its incorporation in Germany, solidifying its footprint in Europe.
SkedGo’s incorporation helps consolidate ongoing European projects with local organisations, governments and transport providers. The company is already staffed across Europe, the UK, Vietnam, Argentina and Sydney, Australia.
John Nuutinen, CEO of SkedGo, says: “This was a strategic decision to support the future of our company, as having European representatives on the ground is something our clients and partners value. We’re seeing MaaS gaining in strength across Europe, particularly in Germany which drove our decision to incorporate SkedGo here. Although seen as a traditionally car-loving nation, cycling and micromobility are becoming increasingly important to German people, representing accessible and sustainable transport alternatives.”
Initiatives and regulatory changes are taking place to support MaaS throughout Europe, backed by governments and contributed by private companies. For example, the city of Berlin recently passed a ‘pedestrian law’, intended to elevate the status of pedestrians and make its mobility ecosystem more usable for wheelchair users and the visually impaired.
Nuutinen continues: “The incorporation also reflects our unique multi-cultural heritage. Many of SkedGo’s team are originally from Europe so while we’ve always felt a deep connection to our partners in the region, it’s truly exciting to now have an official base here to complement our Australian HQ.”
In October 2021, SkedGo increased its routing algorithm across Germany, enabling governments, corporations and start-ups to build countrywide MaaS solutions. To find out more about SkedGo’s services, or creating a MaaS offering, contact SkedGo today.
