Oslo, January 24, 2020: Vy Group (formerly NSB), one of the largest transport groups in the Nordics, appointed MaaS platform provider SkedGo to build their new journey planner for the Scandinavian region.
SkedGo is tasked with building Vy’s new journey planner and increasing capabilities for door-to-door travel and intermodality. The multi and mixed modal trip planner reflects Vy’s ambition to provide smarter and greener trips to travellers. User experience and ease of use are a strong focus of the project. In addition, consumers will be able to tailor their trips according to personal preferences, such as low carbon emissions, cost, time and convenience.
“Our goal is to enable our customers to plan their travel seamlessly from door to door, not only station to station. We are integrating our train and bus services tightly together with first and last mile offerings so that our customers easily can find and book door to door journeys in the same place – Vy’s website and app. Traveling sustainably should be easy, whether your journey is by rail, bus, shared electric car, or new ways no one has thought of yet. That’s good for you, good for society, and good for the environment. We have chosen Skedgo to help us present the best journey planner to our customers.“Vy Project Lead Jon Olimstad
Olimstad continues: “New technologies make it possible for us to offer modern and flexible solutions for our passengers. Imagine traveling seamlessly wherever you want to go, door to door. Not just station to station, or bus stop to bus stop. We are integrating our train and bus services tightly together so that you can easily find and book both bus and train tickets in the same place – Vy’s website and app. Traveling sustainably should be easy, whether your journey is by rail, bus, shared electric car, or new ways no one has thought of yet. That’s good for you, good for society, and good for the environment.”
”The project with Vy is a great opportunity to showcase the capabilities of our API in the Nordic region. We are now in our tenth year of business and bring a mature, tested MaaS solution to the market. We are very excited to be working with Vy and bring this new journey planner to life.”SkedGo CEO John Nuutinen
The solution includes integrated maps for all of Scandinavia and a “place search” feature to enable searches based on addresses, points of interest and public transport stations. Users will be able to visualise the suggested routes on a map.
